Back on the grind

Yesterday was my first day tracking my meals again after about a month of eating too many snacks and vegan junk food. Last Thursday I ate half a package of Newman Os (organic Oreos) in one sitting. On Saturday I ate 3 vegan cinnamon rolls within an hour. You get the picture.

It’s been a month of not really being too concerned with my eating and yes I’ve still been exercising regularly, maybe 3-4 times a week instead of 4-6. Well yesterday I decided it was time to jump back in. So I meal prepped and worked out and ate all my healthy foods which included green smoothies, tempeh, broccoli and brown rice. Those kinds of things. So pure and healthy. 

I logged in all my meals and workouts, in the evening I brushed my teeth around 7pm, and started homework. I was supposed to be done eating for the day, I was only slightly over my caloric goal which I don’t mind because my lifestyle isn’t for aesthetic purposes, it’s purely for health and longevity. Well then, I decided to snack on a trail mix that had glazed walnuts, dried cherries, almonds, and dark chocolate. Sure, it was a healthy snack, but the problem is that I ate 3 servings, which took me 800 calories over my goal. And I had to brush my teeth a second time.

Yes, I messed up on my first day back. But oh well, I still logged it and I’m back on my grind today. I’m gonna have grapes out and ready for any spontaneous snacking. Failing doesn’t mean I’m giving up. Once I get started and get into my groove, it’s hard to get out of it.
